I am working on thermostability aspects of plant superoxide dismutases (SODs). Thermostability varies between plant species under study. I wonder how thermostable SODs evolved in plants. Is thermostability a mere consequences of mutations or do plants evolved them for their own benefits.......If its true, how thermostability of SODs be beneficial for plants? Can we correlate thermostability with evolutionary adaptation....... Thanks in advance for valuable insights.
