If your PLCs are connected near to VFDs, process, and control variables (PVs and CVs) may fluctuate due to harmonics introduced by VFDs, causing controller malfunction. To be on the safer side, we need harmonic filter directly connected to the incoming and outgoing power cables, and care must be taken when grounding VFDs, motors (connected to these VFDs) and other sensitive equipment (PLCs).
