A study I was involved with 20 years ago involved collecting saliva samples, freezing them and then sending them to Belgium for analysis. The study was over a period of 18 months. After a few weeks a van load of frozen samples became unfrozen. The end of this part of the study . I don't know the longevity of frozen saliva which retains all of its enzymes.
