As an advanced computing paradigm, pervasive computing has numerous benefits. How can pervasive computing be applied to classroom environments, especially in enhancing learning and promoting well-being of students?

Pervasive computing should address both the software and the hardware side of the coin. The greater the seamlessness between these two - the greater the ubiquity of the enhanced learning environment. That means that classroom environments themselves should look to change. We must now think beyond blackboards and whiteboards and investigate embedded devices wherever possible. This might start with desktop computing - but must also try to move beyond the old norm and into mobile applications, mobile devices, connected devices within infrastructure, and any and all sensors. Thus a simple temperature sensor in a thermostat, a light sensor controlling security devices, or even a shared application on a mobile device can all be harnessed. I think the best approach is to be opportunistic rather than structured about the learning. In some instances - different mobile devices will compete - in other scenarios - it will be more about embedded devices. These could include Bluetooth in cars, games, or other add-on devices. Let the students seek the connectivity rather than creating a specific connected environment. In some instances the learning is enhanced simply by trying to understand the way in which a connection is formed, rather than a specific one-off purpose.
Take a look at recent works about u-learning. The mais objective of this area is to bring technologies provided by ubiquitous computing to actual learning scenarios. I made some works in this area, and in my opinion there is a "gap" between the technologies and learning techniques.
