I am modifying glassy carbon electrode with one pot preparation of precursor of prussian blue with precursor of nickel, by coating the electrode surface with a mixture of PB-Ni which I prepared. Then I do cyclic voltammetric test to the above modified electrode. Then I heated the electrode at 100 C and cycled again then I compared the two curves (before & after heating), I found the current peaks were increased when I heated the electrode. The heated electrode become more sensitive.
I agree with the response of Tomer Noyhouzer. An aditional possibility is that when you heat the electrode to 100 C, you remove all water and probably also increase the active area of the modifier.
There are a few papers who investigated the effect of heat on selective electrodes. One explanation is that heat treatment improves the binder distribution (in your case the PB-Ni) and also changes the morphology. People have also suggested that the heat treatment effects the adhesion to the electrode surface.
