I want to find out intensity backscattering coefficient of an SOA to quantify the amount of backscattered light. What is the way to do it as the data sheet does not specify anything?
Since an SOA is just a waveguide, I think you can use the default waveguide backscatter literature.
Depending on your application, though, residual reflections from facets and counterpropagating ASE might have a larger impact on your system.
