How one can account for proton-transfer during gas-phase HD exchange? i.e. more highly charged protein ions turn into more lowly charged protein ions such that, for example, an 7+ ions becomes a 6+ ion, and exchanges as an 7+ first and as a 6+ later. Also, need to calculate proton transfer rates from fractions of ions of all charge states present.
