In Asia there are many non motorized practices in freight transportation. How can they evaluate in terms of environment, economic, social and physical aspects? What is the exact qualitative analysis method to evaluate non motorized modes compared to motorized modes under environment, economic, social and physical aspects?

Except in some very specific circumstances, it is not clear why hand pull carts would be more effective than the pedal variety. There are quite a few freight companies in Europe (including DHL) using cargo bikes, and this would, on first inspection, appear a more viable method of non-motorised freight transport in cities. The main advantage being speed/distance covered per unit of time. These metrics are essential to any viable freight option and will made a big difference when assessing the economic impact. My first tip for some of your sub questions would be to undertake a comparison between conventional car based delivery, with hand cart and pedal/cargo bike. Assess these different modes on a short trip (1km), medium trip (3km) and long tip (8km) - on a variety of metrics (time, carrying capacity, staff cost, vehicle and other fixed costs, fuel, emissions, physical activity impact, air pollution). This would offer a reasonable basis for performing a more detailed analysis, integrating $ into the equation eventually.

Hand pulled carts have a technical problem. If it slips from the hands of the puller, it will suddenly fall into the ground, which will be disasterous for the traveller. 2nd thing, if you study the consequences of hand pulled carts in Kolkata (India) and try to understand the movement against using a human just like another animal such as horse or bullock and hence it became an issue of rights of human being. Third thing is efficiency,. How far a hand pulled cart can go? hardly 2.5 to 3km. And our Asian cities are not so small. compare the growth area of New Delhi, Beijing, Mumbai etc and you will understand. Yet, there is a possibility to use the non-motorised transportation in local level. For that, you have to divide the entire city into several zones and can facilitate each zone ny NMT system. It wil be efficient. But at the same time you have to analyse the other traffic data too. Well, you are thinking about NMT; but have you thought the numbers of vehicles on road and the intensity of pollution caused by those? I believe sustainable transportation system is about to introduce one low-polluting vehicle; but to transform the entire transportation system in an effective way to reduce pollution, traffic congesstion and expenditure. New Delhi had implimented NMT system but it could not make an impact because it was just an addition to the present trasportation system. We don't need any addition (whether it is NMT or motor ehicle doesn't matter). We need transformatuion. We need to transform the existing transportation system into sustainable form.
