I want to do a sequentially coupled thermal-displacement analysis in Abaqus. At first, doing a stress analysis problem, and then, having the nodal displacement from the last analysis, performing a thermal analysis.
Go to the LOAD-->predefined field-->create a predefined field and in the distribution, instead of direct specification, select "from results or output database file". You can easily select from the step of your previous ODB file!

If you are taking only displacements from stress analysis, then the nodal displacement will be reflected as initial geometry (perturbed). You can impose those displacements using *Imperfection keyword as well
