I have observed that curve fitting through rpf method is very dependent on the range of data being taken

It fits differently for different range of same data.

I am attaching three pics where rpf is fit over 3 different range of a particular data after taking fft. But you can observer it fits differently in all the cases.

So how to chose the best range for optimum fit.

I have also attached a pic where I generated the frequency, damping and K  by varying the polynomial degree N.

You can find that the constants also vary markedly. So how to get the right fit and right parameters for any function.
