I have three parts in my model: a heat source (a circular coil with a hole in the center), a plate and a an air domain which are merged as a single part. I have carried out an analysis where the heat source is static at a predetermined height above the plate and I was able to obtain proper heating on the plate.
Now I want to move the heat source over the plate (both heat source and the plate are embedded inside air domain) along a path (ex: straight line ) but I am unable to specify a path for the heat source to move. Can someone tell me how I can specify a path for the heat source to travel ?
I look forward for your help and any ideas in this regard would be valuable and appreciable.

Hi Pravin, maybe I misunderstand your question but I'll try to answer anyway. If the distance between heat source and plate is to remain constant, the easiest way to define a path is by defining two-dimensional Cartesian coordinates (x, y). If not, you need three dimensions(x, y, z).
The plainest way of implementing the movement would be by employing two or three linear drives. But it would work as well by using a multi-joint arm driven by rotating elements. Only the transformation from movement in Cartesian coordinates to the rotational movements of the drives would be more involved.
