I guess you mean the preprint at https://www.researchgate.net/publication/392561018. You should upload the PDF file so that ResearchGate's automated algorithm can identify references in the text.

Indeed, ResearchGate's algorithm is very far from being perfect. A lot (if not even most) of the references in my own publications were not identified. However, uploading the full text (provided that copyright allows this) is the only possibility users have to influence the process. By the way, see this method developed by Andrejs Krauklis: https://www.researchgate.net/post/Method_for_Improving_Recognition_of_Citations_References_on_ResearchGate/1. My experience is that the auxiliary file with the references in a better form should be uploaded as a private file prior to uploading the public full text, otherwise the method will not work. And it also does not give perfect results.

Although Google Scholar is usually better in recognising citations, it is also not complete. Perhaps, the citation may appear later.
