i am modeling a forming process in which the punch moves at four seperate steps,after the first step, visulization module stop displaying while job correctly continues,this error occurs in visualization module in tranferring from step1 to step2: the selected primary variable is not available in the current frame/step,of course i tried to solve by increasing interval values in the field output, can anyone give a hint?
In Abaqus, this simply means that you are in a step/frame where the variable you selected is not stored. This happens frequently(for some variables) at frame 0 of a second step (which is identical to the final frame of the previous step).
It may also occur if you have several output statements with different intervals so that some variables are not written at some frames.

You do that in the field/history output manager in the step module.
Or (which I find much easier) directly in the inp-file.

could you fix this problem. I am getting the same error in a transient heat transfer analysis, and it happens in different frames each time which is not the first frame of the step. basically i get results from abaqus and it crashes in the middle of nowhere by providing the same error message.
You may also have problems (material properties / ) with the parameters which are defined and does not fit for the abaqus to show some simulations. Like for example. Please find the attached document for the clear explanation and why the simulation is terminated.
So at that point of time the initial hardening modulus and criticial resolved shear stress should be clearly choosen.

This question goes back a long time but I remember that i solved it strangely by running animation while submitting the step.
