I am working on solar cooling .LiBr absorption cooling system working with solar energy. i need to know how to simulate simulate solar collector in Aspen Plus.which block I use and how.
Hi, Aspen Plus hasn't a predefined unit operation block for solar collectors. However, a HEATER block enables you to calculate heat requirement for heating your fluid to a require temperature. Another option is USER block. By using this option you can calculate details of your solar collector in an EXCEL sheet and connect it with your ASPEN simulation via user block. Hi Adil, It depends what exactly you want calculated, If your aim is to calculate for example how much energy is required to heat a fluid from temperature T1 to T2, you can use a HEATER model It calculate you only the amount of heat required. But if you want for example to calculate surface area of collector ASPEN has not a model for this, But you can write your own model and connect it with your ASPEN Simulation using a USER model Block.
