Hi, I use abaqus to model joint model.

At this time, I put the partition to the middle layer on the front surface because I wanted to change boundary conditions like "x" and "y" to the middle layer on the front surface in my model. This time I have the problem maybe because I put the partition there. Some meshes were deleted and I also had to reput the boundary conditions, contacts, and force. When I run this model, I have such the error message in MSG file such as

  • TOO MANY ATTEMPTS MADE FOR THIS INCREMENT

And also warning in MSG file such as

  • DISPLACEMENT INCREMENT FOR CONTACT IS TOO BIG.
  • SOLVER PROBLEM. NUMERICAL SINGULARITY WHEN PROCESSING NODE BOLT-3.5 D.O.F. 3 RATIO = 63.9136E+09 .
  • THE SYSTEM MATRIX HAS 237 NEGATIVE EIGENVALUES

And finally in DAT file such as

  • THE SLAVE SURFACES ASSEMBLY_CP-165-UE-TEN-1 AND ASSEMBLY_CP-166-UE-TEN-1 INTERSECT EACH OTHER. THEY ARE PAIRED WITH MASTER SURFACES ASSEMBLY_CP-55-BOLT-4 AND ASSEMBLY_CP-56-BOLT-4 THAT ALSO INTERSECT EACH OTHER. IF BOTH PAIRS ARE *CONTACT PAIRs, THESE TWO PAIRS SHOULD NOT BE SIMULTANEOUSLY PRESENT IN A STEP BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE CONVERGENCE PROBLEMS; USE *MODEL CHANGE,TYPE=CONTACT PAIR TO REMOVE ONE OF THEM. IF BOTH ARE *TIE PAIRS, THE REDUNDANT TIES WILL BE REMOVED AUTOMATICALLY. IF ONE PAIR IS *TIE AND ANOTHER IS *CONTACT PAIR, REMOVE ONE OF THEM.

And result data ended at the first step of 1 increment.

I could not find why this happens.

Is there another way to put "x" and "y" boundary condition in my model without partition?

Or how can I solve this problem.
