During the algal cell cultivation, I always find that some bad smell from the biomass harvesting after a few days. After checking, there are a lot bacteria inside, so how to get rid of the bad smell and remove the bacteria to improve the quality of biomass.

I have faced similar bacteria which was found to be Bacillus. Its one of the autotrophic guys that grows. Best way is to possible use antibiotics like Neomycin, or any one that works on Bacillus as they form spores and dont go off easily.
Streaking it axenic is the best way and to follow GLP for good quality cultures

Antibiotic can alter some metabolic profile in algae, eurakyotic algae as Chlorella included. Firstly, you need audit if the culture have aseptically conditions, because if you don´t have these condition clean the strain will be meaningless.
Secondly , a good alternative is to use a capillary and an inverted microscope to separate one to one algal cells and planting in 200 -300 uL of medium and reescalate 1:10, tipically.

unfortunately if its bacillus its not easy to remove it. it only needs your algae to stay alive. keep your algae flasks sterilized and away from bacterial exposure. untill we find a solution.
