How can I remove ethyl acetate from carbon quantum dots?

I used the hydrothermal method to synthesize carbon quantum dots, and then added ethyl acetate to remove unreacted organic moieties. Now, I need to freeze-dry my samples, but I’m concerned that ethyl acetate might damage the freeze-dryer apparatus. How can I remove ethyl acetate from my samples without harming the carbon quantum dots?

Ethyl acetate can be readily removed from mixtures containing it, ethanol and water by using extractive distillation in which the extractive distillation .
