I am modelling a solar PV system in that the output of the panel is varying according to the irradiance.
But for charging the battery I have to stabilize the higher voltage to a constant value; say 50V. Can anyone help me with an input to this problem?

As far as I understood, you are using battery in your system and your battery is DC-Coupled so that you have to regulate the voltage on the DC-Link.
Since your power is varying due to the irradiation and temperature, you need to use MPP tracking algorithms and a boost converter in your PV side and a buck or buck-boost converter in your battery side.
By controlling the switching technology, you can regulate the voltage (PWM).
The voltage of your DC-Link should be something a bit more than 240 (if you are using a single phase system) e.g 260V depending on your inverter topology.

for a minimum PV-Voltage VPV = 52 V a simple buck converter should do the job. To maximize the output power of your PV-System simplest way is to control the buck converter with a hill climbing MPP-Tracker. The PWM will vary from 4 % at VPV = 52 V to 31 %.
