There is low energy bluetooth sensors on the market. They are new technology.

Several Approaches may be used to reduce the energy consuming in Wireless sensor network the most powerful approaches are:-
Using the suitable (Leach Family protocols)
Using the compressive sensing techniques

1.sleep-awake scheduling of sensor nodes,
2.different MAC Protocols,
3.different Routing Protocols
4.applying compression techniques and so on....
