According to literature, Daucus carota can be used for the reduction of some ketones,  we tried with or without a buffer (pH = 7), with or without an organic solvent, but it did not work; We mix an amount of the substrate (tens of mg) with a larger quantity of carrot (tens of grams) mixed in the buffer (or water). The reaction is stirred (over 24 hours) and followed by TLC, which always shows the starting material. I wonder how this reaction is reproducible. Could someone correct us our protocol or give us another. Thank you in advance for your answers
