Hi. I want to remove oxygen inside the water to do some anaerobic incubation experiment. I found some papers purge water with N2 or He to remove dissolved oxygen but no idea how to do that. Is anyone try this before? Thanks!
the easiest way to remove oxygen is bubbling nitrogen or helium gas through it. For that you should use a filter cap for the gas tube in the flask to reduce bubble size. See for example this webpage for such kind of setup (it's somewhat more sophisticated, but bubbling alone (for at least 30-60 min before the experiment) will already suffice for most applications):
