I'm currently using a 3kW AC/DC converter which gave 48VDC output(Switch mode power supply). The device is capable to deliver up to 62.5A current to the load.
My application is a cyclic movement driven by a motor. Due to high torque requirements, the motor draws up to 25A current from the converter. The movement completed within 1 second and after then it starts again for n-times.
When the cyclic movement is finished, the output voltage of the power supply increases up to 62VDC. Since the device has internal over-voltage protection it shuts down itself and I cannot continue to my application.
How can I overcome this problem? Is there any solution to prevent that sudden voltage increase?

I think this problem can be solved by loading the power supply with a light load called a bleeding resistance preventing the full interruption of the output current such that its voltage will not increase to the limit causing the interruption of the power supply. This just to connect a bleeding resistance across the power supply.
The other solution is to increase the voltage at which the protection interrupts the output. But this is the internal circuitry of the power supply.

Assuming that the Power Supply is grounded, it is possible to make use of a 48 VDC Surge Arrester. Simply wire the output of the Power Supply to the Surge Arrester first before going to the Motor. Afterward, Ground wire the Surge Arrester to the Power Supply Grounding.
When an Overvoltage occurs above 48VDC, the Surge Arrester will let the 48V pass through but send the extra voltage to the grounding.
