I am confused in that whether I have to add the monthly data of each station and than take a mean of that and finally prepare the data for the area as a whole and than standardize it or i should first standardize the data of each station and than take mean of all the standardize series?

I think, it can be easily mapped in ArcGIS by using interpolation techniques.. You just need to provide the lat, lon and precipitation values.
The average rainfall intensity of each station has been calculated separately. In Fig. 2 one can see plot of monthly precipitation of 102 *12 months for 4 such stations. If this does not satisfy your query please further clarify your question. I shall be happy to help.

and appendix : A1 and A3 that I used two different standardized method
"For each station, monthly values were summed to obtain annual and seasonal values, which are then analyzed for monotonic trends and step changes." So I think the data of each station was prepared for a season or for a year (whichever may be the case) and then it was prepared for all the stations together.
