During analysis how much KV may be applied and how long can we spatter gold for successful coating . My samples are generally in the agglomerated forms and I have to analyze the samples as discrete agglomerated particles .
With FESEM you may want to try observation without coating at about 1-1.5 kV. You should try different voltages to find a sweet spot when charging does not occur. If gold coating is needed, apply as little of it as possible. Start with shorter times, like 15-30 seconds. You can always add some coating if needed.
Since calcium carbonate in its solid form is non conducting, I have uses gold coating method for 5 mins but the images were blurry hazy, is it the reason of long gold coating? I would like to know what is the reason behind blurry images @paresh Kumar shamantray
