Hello. 

I know that STM experiments can locally measure density of state, or spectral distribution. However, in many theories, off-diagonal element of the density matrix frequently arises, i.e. \rho(r, r'), which corresponds to "density" when r=r'. Is it possible to measure this quantity via STM experiments, or any ideas?
