Is it used to measure distributions of intensity? If it is, you can use Beam Profile Analyzer, such as Ophir Spiricon (brand), which is very handy and powerful.
The intensity of a laser beam is the optical power per unit area, which is transmitted through the target surface to the spread direction. The units of the optical intensity (or light intensity) are W/m2 or more commonly W/cm2.
Laser fluence ( Laser energy density) defined as the energy which is delivered per region or active area. Within the group of laser researchers and experts, it is widespread to characterize fluence in units of J/cm2.
Thanks for the detailed answers. I am using a laser in a enclosed area where I can not measure the laser exposed area. Also there is a power loss even though I know the rated power output of the laser. Beam Profile Analyzer seems to be a good solution for me. I am interested to hear alternative options as well. Thank you.
