How can I measure MMP-1 protein activity or protein level from liver tissue?

Instead of checking only the mRNA level, I want to check the active protein level of MMP-1 in Liver tissue from mice. How can I do that?

There are some special kits to evaluate them in tissue. then you can analysis Total cholesterol (TC) and triglycerides (TG) by enzymatic methods.

first make a homogenate of the tissue, perform an lipid extraction , B&D, resolve the lipid in triton 2% and use a kit (for example rouche , diasys) for TG and Cholesterol measurements
