You can go for DNS or Anthrone method. Abundant literature and protocols are available. first check the sugar concentration in uninoculated broth then in inoculated one. check the sugar concentration at different time intervals and relate your culture's growth curve with sugar utilization.

Keep in mind that DNS and anthrone methods are based on color detection by spectrophotometer. Before analyzing the samples remove the turbidity of the medium so that it can not hinder the color while taking absorbance.
