I want to do a thin-film SQUID-VSM of my samples. They are in powder form and when I made film it becomes so powdery that it comes out easily. Can anyone suggest to me how can I make a sticky film without adding any polymer in it? Thank You!!
e-beam evaporator or PLD can be used for preparing thin film. from the prepared material. In e-beam method, powder will do but in case of PLD, you have to prepare pellet which can be used as target.
If you have a powder, pelletize it directly using hydraulic compression. If thin film is required, you can use a non-magnetic soft substrate (e.g. cleaned aluminum foil) and press the powder into it.Would advise pressing three pellets at different pressures to ensure magnetic property stability under compression.
