For inserting multiple biological sample, the surface of substrate (glass) should be enough hydrophilic to avoid hydrophobicity by the residual effect of solutions. The case especially capillary flow system requires superhydrophilic surface. TiO2 can be irradiated to get the superhydrophilic surface but patterning on glass wafer seems to be difficult. Can any body give nice solution to it? It will be very much helpful for my research.

Thank you very much for the article. It is very interesting. This article has mentioned the use of Gold nanoparticle and processing by heating. That seems to be very much interesting. However, I need self-cleaning property on substrate surface (so that, by using just water, the hydrophilicity could be regained for multiple time solution handling). If you have information like that, please, can give me. That will be very much helpful.
Maybe you can functionalized your substrate (glass) with a silane (Trimethoxysilane with OH at the end) via microcontact printing technique (micropattern as well). We observe our microcpatterned structures per Imaging ellipsometry, maybe also useful for kinetic measruements.

Thank you for your nice advice. That means, forming self-assembled monolayer(s) (SAMs) with OH group on glass could facilitate hydrophilicity.
Some groups tried SAM with TiO2 deposition. After irradiation, hydrophilic surface appear. But, making pattern seems to be complicated. Could you please, suggest me some reference?

Thank you very much for your nice reference. It is very interesting. I need some clear idea about gold affinity for biomolecules. If the gold surface is contaminated with adsorbed molecule, whether hydrophilicity will be regained or not (using water or buffer).

We measure protein absorption on gold surface via imaging ellipsometry in a SPR cell with patterned surfaces (buffer solution). So you can distinguish between the gold layer and the hydrophobis or hydrophilic pattern (depending on the end function of the silane/thiol you are using)
