Dear all,

I have done TGA on amorphous and crystalline silicon nanoparticles (< 30 nm) between 40 and 1500 °C under air, with 10°.min-1 heat rate.

For the crystalline nanoparticles, a classical oxidation wave appears from 400 to 1200°C. The problem concerns the amorphous silicon. There is many waves of oxidation above the classical one (see the attached file), how can I interpret this ?

Thanks !
