How can I improve the 260/280 and 260/230 ratios for nuclear RNA extraction from plasma samples using Direct-zol mini-prep?

My yield is good, however the 260/280 is still low around 0.8-0.9.

Any tips to overcome this?

Notes:

I use 200 ul plasma, 3X trizol reagent.
