I preciptated magnetic phase in a glass matrix and got a ferrite phase. That has the same positions in the XRD charts. How can I differentiate between them and identify the resulting phase?
Probably origin is a good way to plot XRD values and FullProf is sutable to find corresponding Bragg reflections. Once you know the space group of other phases, you can separate them. Generally ferrites have the space group Fd-3m.
yes but the problem is that it can be hardly differentiate between Magnetite and magnesium ferrite where they have the same 2Theta positions and the lattice parameters beside both of them has S.G - Fd-3m (227)
You should add two phases to FullProf. Both should have same space group but different lattice parameters (see attachment Mg-ferrite_latt_param_page6.pdf)
If you are available to make further analysis, you can detect oxygen positional parameter which are different for Mg ferrite and magnetite (see attachment Page5_oxygen_pos_param.pdf)
