While I can get aggregate throughput information, I need to add some “time series” plots to my reports. How can I plot (or get data) for various performance measures in NetSim as the simulation progresses? For example, the SINR, TCP window, or the queue length in a buffer, etc. Is this possible?
NetSim offers various performance metrics as output, in the form of tables, plots, and logs. The specific throughput of each configured network traffic model can be obtained in the Application metrics table, in the Results dashboard. The output can be exported to a CSV log to compute the total of all network traffic models throughput.
Plots must be enabled prior to the simulation run to get time series plots for link and application throughput, which includes moving average, time average, and instantaneous throughput curves. The plot's raw data can also be accessed for further analysis.
TCP congestion window and Buffer occupancy at devices such as routers can be got by enabling the logs in the device properties.
First, Enable appropriate log via GUI. Then, you will have an Excel file with data. Filter it. For example: filter PDSCH SINR between gNB(x) and UE(y)
* Plot the SINR vs. Time (usually in the first column of the sheet).
Thanks for all this information. Can you let me know how to plot MCS vs. time for a multi-UE 5G scenario? I would like to use this MCS information to determine the rate per TTI and may be improving the scheduling algorithm
