SAP2000 produce pre-processed story level output only for the load cases that are dependent on a diaphragm (e.g., Automatic Lateral Forces). In all other cases, the story level output must be computed by summing the internal forces at a certain story.
The story Mass and Stiffness can be obtained from the .M and .K files generated by the modal analysis respectively (check to save the text file output from the analysis settings under the "Analyze" pop-down menu).
P.S: There are plenty of Youtube videos that explains the process of computing Mass and Stiffness Matrices using SAP2000.
To obtain the story forces, story masses, and story stiffnesses in SAP2000 after performing a linear static analysis, you can follow these steps:
Open the SAP2000 model that you want to analyze.
Click on the "Display" tab and select "Show Tables."
In the "Show Tables" window, select "Output" and then select "Story Shear/Force/Stiffness."
In the "Story Shear/Force/Stiffness" window, select the desired parameters you want to display, such as "Story Forces" or "Story Stiffnesses."
Click on the "Apply" button to display the selected parameters in a table format.
You can also customize the table by selecting the columns you want to view or adding filters to the table.
Note that the results displayed in the table are based on the load cases and combinations that you have defined in your SAP2000 model. Therefore, make sure that the load cases and combinations are properly defined and assigned to the appropriate elements and supports in your model.
Mehdi Ebadi-Jamkhaneh Dear Prof. Jamkhaneh, Can I inquire which version of SAP2000 did you use? I cannot find some selection from step 3-6 in SAP2000 v21.0.2 Thank you very much!
