There is Uncertainty and Optimization Workflow under Utilities Process that enables you to generate realizations for porosity and rank them according to volume calculations.

The multiple realization of  spatial variation of any property whether it is porosity or permeability or Sw can be done in Petrel through property modelling module

 1.       Using different method such as

a.        Gaussian Random Function or sequential Gaussian Simulation

b.      Established neural network method

c.       User defined algorithm

2.       In the property module

a.        changing the Seed No, Distribution Methods Such as Standard Gaussian , Normal, Lognormal, Beta and General.

d.      Biased with other property such as porosity and  facies by Co-kriging using the Local varying mean or collocated co-kriging.

 3.       Trend modelling process using vertical and horizontal trends.

4.       Using  different variograms and  transformations.

 Finally we need to Rank among  the realizations and select the best one  to be used  for further simulation.

 These process requires good background in geo-statistical population techniques  and strong hold on  geological variation i.e. rock property across the field.

 The uncertainty and optimization process is linked to case basis and is derived from  volume calculation which does not include Permeability.

 So  that’s why Permeability is  not used  in Uncertainty Module  and we cannot  do multiple realization and sensitivity analysis.

I also used uncertainty workflow for porosity generation and ranking based on IOIP.
