I have a gel having some adsorbing capability. It is of the size of 3mm dia. I wish to generate say one million beads out of single bead so as to have maximum surface area. The gel is a semi-liquid at hot temperature and gets solidified in at room temperature in no time. Hence a spraying gun or a method or a machine that sprays each mL of this gummy substance into a million droplets is required. May be to nanodroplets so as to have surface area. ANY EXPERT IN THIS AREA PLEASE?
Use a mystifying machine with high pressure. Such machines are in use to create mist in a living room when the weather is very dry. You have to modify the machine to handle your hot stuff otherwise the principle is perfect. Good Luck
It would help to know why you are doing this. If you want surface area as implied, you may want to avoid spheres (you mention generating beads) and then try grinding or cryogrinding
You need to use ultrasound or laser technique for doing this
Pity, you did not describe the dispersion solvent /d. environment/ and dispersed material of your gel particles. If it is water, you might to increase the active surface area via deep vacuum or via pulsing vacuum at increased temperature, for relative short time exposition. Rotavap could be used as apparatus to ensure homogenity of your gel particles and its surface after partial evaporation of the solvent. The same pays for organosolvents with satisfactory volatility /b.p. of the solvent under normal conditions approx. 200 oC/. This might work on condition of good thermostability of both solvent and macromolcular compound gellated. The proposed method could give sufficiently good results if combined with supersound, as mentioned above by Radmila M. Šečerov ...
Add: The very formation of this gel is at around 100 C and what i did was use syringe, slowly inject into the other solution where in gel of the "size of drop" is formed. What i need is not these drops (bigger in diameter- 1 mm). But small droplets of smallest possible. If nanosized, the application will be very wide. It becomes solidified in seconds. Hence we need a may be spraygun or so..
