I have a range of seismic reflection surveys from the 1960-70's in raster format and I wish to convert to digital for import to Petrel software. Is there a method available for processing this conversion and can the images be enhanced in their digital format for better resolution and hence interpretation?

Yes, there are such programs. You can use them to digitize time slices. But there is no point in talking about improving their quality. It's a waste of time.
I am not an expert at this but I know someone who is. I mentioned your question to Bob Lankston, I think he will reply.
It is easy to be discouraged by old seismic data. Improving it by further processing depends on that's been done to it already. Getting it on a workstation may be an end in itself, especially if there is a large grid.
Lots of places in the world only have old seismic lines. They should be used. If necessary, interpretation software can actually handle image files as is (scanned in).
