Suppose there are three matrices X1, X2 and Y.

The size of three matrices are same (NxM).  where (N < M). M=Number of Variables. N=No. of replicates/Observations

Suppose X1 and X2 matrices have similar variables.

Suppose that the two matrices X1 and X2 are correlated (for eg. two organs of our body system).

We have observations on a third organ (Y-matrix, NxM) having same variables studied as X1 and X2.

Y is related to X1 and Y is related to X2.

           I want to

  • Develop a relationship of Y jointly with X1 and X2;  i.e. Y=A*X1 + B*X2
  • Know the proportion of the contribution of X1 to Y and X2 to Y.
  • How to analyse (1) and (2) if N=M and N>M?
