Can you tell me how I can measure the TSS (total suspended solid) and TDS (total dissolved solid) matter of a purified herbal extract? What apparatus and procedure should I follow in this regard? Is there any simple procedure that can be applied at home and is cost effective as well as internationally accepted?

For total suspended solids (TDS), and total suspended solids (TSS), Gravimetric technique by using Whatman filter paper (0.45 milli micron ) or equivalent.
TDS = filter with whatman filter paper, collect filtrate, pre dry evaporating dish, take initial weight, evaporate the filtrate taking care of spill. Take final weight and calculate. Note: 100 ml is an ideal quantity to work with.
For TSS, take initial weight of filter paper, measure out 100ml, filter, then dry filter paper and take the final weight. Make calculations.
