I am not clear on what exactly you are proposing to do with the profiled plate. Are you using it for the web, flanges or all.
For the web, the stability of the web is given by the bending modulus of the steel. The in plane strength, parallel to the ribs can be taken as the in-plane steel strength, after accounting for the stability.
If the girder is used in a primarily static situation, you probably only need to weld on the 'flats' of the profiled sheet
In this situation, welding becomes an issue. In high shear regions, the welding needs to be continuous. I am not current on the automation of the fabrication industry, so I don't know if it can readily weld to the profile.
