When I model the orthogonal cutting process (no incline angle) with deform 2D software, how can I define the cutting width ("depth of the cut" as shown in the attached figure) in the software?

Try to find out from the user manuals for machining module. You can change the depth of cut values in the machining template directly. When starting in a general pre-processor, you need to alter the distance of tool with the workpiece as per your DOC manually which is slightly difficult. Manual really helps.

Thanks for your answer. According to your suggestion, I can define the uncut chip thickness by altering the distance of tool with workpiece. Maybe you misunderstood my meaning. Actually, I want to adjust the cutting width which can be considered as the direction along the cutting edge in 2D orthogonal cutting, not the uncut chip thickness.
Would you please to tell me how can I modify the cutting width in the deform 2D?
