If a journal states on its website that it’s Scopus indexed but after searching the SJR website, the journal name does not appear, how to confirm if the journal is truly indexed on Scopus and can some journals display fake indexing information on their websites?

Indeed, SJR is based on the journals included in Scopus. However, it is impossible to guaranteed whether both lists are updated simultaneously. There could be a reasonable gap of updating between the two databases. Therefore, checking SJR for current indexing of Scopus journals would not work always. The best approach is checking the indexing status directly from the Scopus source list (https://www.scopus.com/home.uri). Do not merely depend on the indexing or abstracting information given on the official websites of journals. There are both genuine and fake journals. Perhaps, their information may not up-to-date. So, it is advisable to check them from the official websites of the original indexing/abstracting sources.
Dear colleague,
Check the journal in advanced search in the "source title" in the Scopus portal.
If it does not appear, it is a predatory journal.

Marcos Mayo-Cubero, thank you for your contribution, actually the journal is also Pubmed and Web of Science ESCI indexed, so it is less likely to be predatory.
Please also find the Scopus index (attached) that we use in South Africa, which also includes another five indices - there is a very low probability that the journals listed in these indices are predatory.
