I have calculated, using the Atmospheric Correction Method, the LST of 2016 using the Landsat8 remote sensor.
I want to compare the LST of that year with respect to the year 1985, with Landsat 5, but the NASA website does not let me calculate the LTS with the same method:
"Atmospheric data is not available for most dates before 2000, but the year field must be greater 1998".
What method can I use in Lansat 5 to compare LST with Landsat 8?

This type of article is good for me, mainly because most authors use the algorithm of atmospheric correction, and for me it is easier the method that you and a few other authors have used.
However, I did not dare to use this method to compare LST from two very different years with two different remote sensors, because I thought that the real temperature would be affected by the atmosphere, therefore, and the most accurate way to obtain this real temperature was by the atmospheric correction method, i think.

For instance, 1985 satellite image can be found in LandSat 4-5, and recent years data can be found L8, which means that the band's number in L4-5 and L8 are not the same, and don't forget that, we have equations that accommodate individual bands irrespective of their sensors. Thermal Infrared Sensors (TIRS) band 6 in L4-5 is the same as TIRS1(band 10) and TIRS2 (band 11)in L8. Having said that, Scholars need good people like you to do more in this regards and to develop more algorithms.

Dear in easy way you can do your comparison from selection samples points located in the to of your images of LST then you do comparison by statistical fitting curve in Matlap, excel or SSPS
