Any reference on this subject will be very helpful. Since here, in Zamora Chinchipe, Ecuador we can find 8 species of Magnolia within ca. 10 000 km2, it is richer, in terms of species of Magnolia, than other place in the New World. But I wonder how rich is the Zamora Chincipe region in comparison with other areas in ASIA.

no doubt, Indonesia has the most variety of magnolia, so far i just know about 7 species of magnolia (mango) in indonesia especially in java island, and i think actually it has more

Nice to see you here. I have visited Chenzishan mountain (small hill) in Yunnan province in China. Although this place is about one square kilometer area (as far as I can remember), there are EIGHT species of Magnoliaceae!!!!! For more information about henzishan, ask Dr. Weibang Sun, a director of the Kunming Botanical Garden.
The north-east region of India is also a good centre of diversity of Magnolia spp.
