i want to calculate adsorption capacity of a dye in aquoes solution in the presence of a adsorbent? C0 initial concentration of adsorbent was 50 mg added in 25mg/L solution of dye.
Now i want to calculate the Ct for this formula.

i haveUV-VIS absorbance data.
After mixing the adsorbent and the solution which contains specific amount of contaminant (Co) together, you will take many samples with different times. The taken samples will be filtered and measured by GFAA, UV-VIS instruments to give you values of absorption for each sample. those values of absorption will be transformed to concentration (ppb, ppm)(Ct) by using standard curve. Then you can calculate the adsorption capacity easily.
q(known) (mg. g-1)=[{(25)-Ct(unknown)]*(Volume of total solution in Lit)}(mg)]/[(50/1000) (g)]
then you get your Ct (in mg/Lit unit)
Calculation of unit is also important.

Though I have no idea about the adsorbent still I am trying to give you an idea to your query. After adsorption experiment, separate the sorbent from the dye solution either by centrifugation or by any other means appropriate for your experiment. Then take the supernatant, dilute if necessary and then measure in UV-visible spectrophotometer at the optimum wavelength. You will get O.D. value. From there you can easily calculate the residual concentration (Ct)value using the standard graph.
