When we use the LecoS plug-in of QGIS, the output only shows the metrics' values by class for a given area. However when we use the Patch Analyst extension of ArcGIS, apart to get the values by class (of land use), we obtain also the values for all classes ("all"). Is it possible to obtain the overall metrics' values using LecoS? If so, how we do that?

Dear Luis, Sorry, but I don't know the answer about LecoS software. However, I personally worked very well with Fragstats and also using the V-Late extension for ArcGIS. Using V-Late it's possible to calculate the overall landscape metrics (LM) inside a buffer for example, or your study area, intersected with CLC or land uses map.

Actually you have two main options under the Landscape statistics tool, i.e. "Landscape wide statistics", and "Patch statistics". I didn't make the calculation but it seems that while the Patch statistics give you values for each class, on the other hand, the "Landscape wide statistics" supposedly should give you values for the whole landscape.
A any rate, have a look at FRAGSTATS. You can work with GeoTIFF and make statistics at Landscape, Class, and Patch level

Keeping in mind, too, that not all landscape metrics apply to all levels of measure (patch, class, landscape). The FRAGSTATS documentation is a good guide for which apply and how to interpret the metric values.
