Actually, I want to calculate different design parameters for governing stage of a multistage turbine. I only have initial steam pressure, temperature, kinetic energy and steam flow rate before the stage. Now the thing is that I need available heat drops from stagnation parameters before starting other calculations. So how can I calculate available heat drop from the above mentioned parameters?
I think that the heat drop in a turbine stage is defined by the constructor, or can be taken as an assumption. This parameter depends on many variables or parameters e.g.the efficiencies of the turbine, materials of the construction ..etc
The following information may be useful for your research
You have to assume stage efficiency. Stage efficiency is a product of blade efficiency and nozzle efficiency. From the blade geometry, you can calculate blade efficiency. Blade efficiency is defined as workdone per stage to kinetic energy supplied. Nozzle efficiency is defined as actual enthalpy drop to isentropic enthalpy drop. These condtions can be calculated usning Molier Chart. . As initial velocity is known to you, kinetic energy supplied to the turbine can be calcuated. Once these parameters are known, enthalpy drop in each stage can be calculated.
