I am mixing the drops(20 µl) of both reactants and measuring the change spectrophotometrically. Since the reaction is very fast, the change is observed immediately.
Actually, the reaction is monitored in a modified mass spectrometer. I could see the product forming (corresponding m/z values) within 2 seconds of addition of reactants.
Dr. Meher, I suppose you could take the help of HPLC. Record the peak areas at the retention time of the Schiff base so formed, at different time intervals after mixing the reactants. From the peak areas generated data, you could plot it against time to get the rate... Might help with some improvisation.
