I recorded a video and attached it. I described how you use the ATEX software to calculate the GNDs. please watch it. Any questions, please feel free to contact me. Have a good day.
Thank you for your time and the tutorial you provided. I went through all of these steps but I didn't know the Burger's vector length of Al. Also, I think the ATEX version that I use is a little different from your version (I don't have some items!).
The tutorial video provided by Esmaeil is quite complete. Some additional informations:
- The default plotted map under G.N.D. will be the entrywise (L1) norm of the dislocation density tensor (Nye tensor), considering all 5 known components from 2D surface orientation data (12, 13, 21, 23, 33). These components can be also obtained separately by selecting "GND Tensor Components". Should you provide the Burgers vector length b (in Angstrom), the displayed map will then be the entrywise norm of Nye tensor divided by b, which is a definition of the GND density.
- The effect of step size on GND density calculation can be evaluated by using "Use Reference Step" option. The default value is the one you used during acquisition, but you can specify a different one. For example, if you choose a value twice as big, the measurement will skip one pixel over two, etc..
- As shown in the video, you can extract data and export to Excel. Please note that, by default, a file ATEX_OUT_InfosGrainsPixels.csv is generated and contains for every pixel all acquired information, including values of GND Density and Nye components.
Be sure to check if there is a new update each time you launch ATEX, as many new functions and improvements are regularly proposed and bugs are corrected.
If you are talking about 'Plots' options under 'Statistics' toolbar, thay allow you to draw instant line plots or histogram/line distribution plots for different variables. I invite you to check tutorial videos under 'Help' on the ATEX software website.
If you need more details, though I am not familiar with all functions of the software, feel free to send me a private message.
